About Camp Bridges

Established in 2003, Camp Bridges is a day-long bereavement camp for children from ages 5 to 18 who have lost a parent or other loved one to homicide, suicide, or opioid overdose. Such unexpected loss can make a child feel alone and “different” from other children.
Camp Bridges is a place where these children won’t feel so alone. It’s a place where they can spend the day with other children who’ve experienced similar trauma and build friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
In 2024, Camp Bridges brought together 38 children for a fun and healing day.

Who We Serve
The children who attend camp are receiving services through FrontLine's Traumatic Loss Response Team (TLRT). TLRT assists families who have been impacted by the traumatic loss of a loved one. The team provides 24/7 practical and therapeutic support to reduce the harmful effects of trauma. Since 2003, Camp Bridges has provided a day of healing and summer fun.
You Can Make an Impact as a Volunteer
Our volunteers will have a meaningful and fun experience that will help create a lasting, positive impact on the life of a child. Volunteers can assist in camp activities or will be matched with a child for the day as a camp buddy. Camp buddies provide support and accompany children through the day’s fun activities. All volunteers must be 18 years or older and complete a background check.

NEW VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION *Orientation is not required for returning volunteers New volunteers must attend a virtual orientation. After you register, you will receive an email to sign up for one of these sessions: · JUNE 18 8:30-9:30 AM · JUNE 20 5:30-6:30 PM (If you would like to volunteer at Camp Bridges, but are not available 6/18 or 6/20, please let us know when you receive the sign-up email.) |
