Thank you for listening to the voices of children who are often ignored

By supporting FrontLine Service, you are reaching out to children like Mia, who at 8 years old had to call 911 when her mother overdosed.  Michael, a FrontLine therapist, helped Mia understand that she is not bad, and that her anger and outbursts are natural reactions to the traumatic events she experienced.

Michael met regularly with individuals in Mia’s life who could help or hinder her ability to heal. Michael worked with Mia’s Aunt Dee, whose complicated feelings about her sister’s overdose and new responsibility as Mia’s caregiver made it difficult to connect with her niece. He also educated Mia’s teachers about the specific words that would trigger an explosive emotional response from her.

After 10 months of therapy, Mia now has fewer emotional outbursts at home and school. Aunt Dee has the tools to connect with Mia in an age-appropriate way about the grief they share.

Please help us reach more children like Mia who need support after a traumatic event. Your gift to FrontLine will help 20,000 individuals each year overcome traumatic loss, homelessness, or a behavioral health crisis.

Join a community of FrontLiners who believe that healing is possible.

Gratefully,

Susan Neth,
Executive Director

P.S.  Your gift will be an important part of our holiday campaign, Twinkle Shop.  Twinkle Shop provides gifts and support for families like Mia’s this holiday season and throughout the year.
