What is Crisis Chat?

Crisis Chat is on-line emotional support for anyone who is depressed, despairing or thinking about suicide. Crisis Chat allows you to communicate with a Crisis Chat Specialist while protecting your anonymity and confidentiality. Funded by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, we have implemented Crisis Chat so that we can improve access to mental health care, particularly for those who are more comfortable communicating in this manner.

What We Do on Crisis Chat

We listen to you.

We help you explore your feelings, thoughts, and opinions about whatever it is that may be causing you distress.

We offer information about local resources.

We ask you questions about suicide and work with you to keep you safe.

We don’t give advice or judge or criticize you.

We don’t solve your problems or tell you what to do!
